Lunchtime amusements

You can tell I'm not a regular blogger. My entries are a bit mundane.

Before I hit up my lunch topic I'll share what I've done today. Woke up at 7:30, stumbled around for awhile waking up, did 10 minutes of little daily yoga stretches, ate breakfast and had coffee, saw Ryan off to work, fed the cat, and picked up the house in advance of our house cleaner's arrival. As soon as the house cleaner, Oksana, arrived, I went on a 50 minute bike ride. We have some lovely scenery which is very hilly near the house. It's quite a workout and awesome to get outside to enjoy Osh's crisp, autumnal weather. I came home around 11, played with the cat for awhile, she bit me and that ended playtime, I showered, and then started working. Around 1:30pm I started to make lunch, then Oksana left, and I ate my lunch. Isn't that exciting? I bet you're glad you read this far. :)

Here's a shot of my lunchtime green tea. When working at home I try to take a "break" from my hectic work schedule (har har) and eat a proper lunch out of the home office. This means sitting at our humongous dining room table. It can be lonely. And it probably looks really awkward.

To keep myself company at lunch, if we don't have internet I'll read my Kindle. If we do have internet I'll engage in a little web surfing. I might catch up on celebrity gossip, download and watch the Nightly News, stalk people on Facebook, peruse through online stores for clothes I can't buy... you get the idea. Today I checked out Slate.com and Huffingtonpost.com. Slate has some pretty random but neat photo slideshows. If our internet is strong enough I can watch those, and today was one of those lucky days! I clicked on a show about 19th century homesteaders. Digging the American history. I had to laugh at the first slide though, it was called, "Just me, my shack, and my guitar."

Okay, lunch break is over. Back to work!
